Divya Dhashini
Moniker- Kooky
Divya Dhashini is a Singaporean artist currently undertaking her BA (Hons) in Fine Arts at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. In her recent artistic endeavors, she explores the realms of spirituality, fantasy, and ecocentrism, delving into the intricate relationship between humanity and nature as a cohesive entity.
Divya finds inspiration in a variety of materials including soil, wood, found objects, and most notably, clay. She enjoys experimenting with a combination of organic and non-organic materials, seeing them as powerful vehicles for storytelling and exploring the interplay between internal and external forces.
Drawing on her previous training as a nurse, Divya is deeply committed to provide comfort and healing to those in need. Her art is a means of expressing her passion for connection, whether it be between humans and nature or between individuals seeking emotional support. Looking to the future, Divya hopes to become an Art Therapist/Educator, combining her expertise in both nursing and art to help others find healing and fulfillment.
Her work, “Gaia’s Code”, has been showcased in the Shoebox Sculpture Biennale 2023.
